Guiding Principles

The 12 points of the Scout Law: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent

You know that may seem a bit silly... here is a grown man quoting the Scout Law.... but they have stuck all these years... they are a good list to work with! I am sure Bob Brand and Danny Lang would be proud of me today! (they were my old patrol leaders and great mentors on my way to Eagle)

When in doubt ask

I believe in good communication. So if I'm not clear I'll ask (sometimes there will be intervening nights of sleep between our conversations... I may simply forget a detail...I may have a question about the right way to proceed......hey, I am human after all! But I am not afraid to ask rather than blunder along aimlessly)

Measure twice, cut once

I would rather take a bit more time and be a bit better than rush through something with a less than desirable result.

If I don't do it well.. I don't do it

I do work covering most all the trades.... that can yield some pretty interesting requests. If I am presented with a task that I have not done before or that I think would be better accomplished by someone else ( perhaps because of cost to the consumer or because of my skill set ) I will speak up and say so. I will not start a project then abandon it part way through because I can't accomplish it. I know my limits, and I am not ashamed to say so.

I'll tell you what I think

I'm not going to tell you what you want to hear... but I may be able to turn the prism slightly and see something you have not thought of. Of course I could present three ideas and you pick my least favorite.... it will be accomplished as best a I can... you're the boss..... well to a limit (see next point)

I will not knowingly violate code

There are a lot of rules for a lot of things... and they are there generally for a good reason. This does not mean I have the code book memorized... I don't. I operate between what I do know and common sense. (refer to when in doubt ask)

I thank God

I don't wear my faith on my sleeve... I'm not trying to be sanctimonious .... but I do believe this is a valid point for this list! I am not walking this path alone... and I am very thankful... every day... to be alive and have one more shot at it!

I think you need to know a bit about the person to whom you are trusting your house keys!

Some may think this page a bit silly... but you do need to know just who the person is you are hiring to accomplish a project. I will gladly provide references. So I think I'll stop here... to continue would just deprive you of the fun you'll have getting to know me!

Be on time

You will be given a time and date for our appointment(s). If I am going to be          more than 30 minutes off our agreed upon time (early or late) I will call to give you an update. Sometimes things happen you know... But I endeavor to be on time as much as possible.

Do it right the first time

There are a few principles that I hold important.. I present them here in no particular order...
