Increase your website ranking!

If you have a web site then you know (or should) that your ranking on Google is partially influenced by the number of sites linking to yours.

Until now I have found this linking process cumbersome and potentially expensive, wrought with gimmicks and fraud.

I propose a simple "grass roots" campaign. Here is how it will work:

1. You add this table to a "links" page on your web site.

2. Put this invite somewhere on your home page..... "Do you have a web site? Want to increase your site's ranking? Look here.... " Note that the "Look Here" is a link back to this page.

3. Email me your url, site name, and contact email address and I'll add it to this list when I verify that you have added the table to your site.

4. Request google crawl your "link page" . Submit that specific page to google.

5. Check back once a month or so and update the table on your site. Once you are on the list all you have to do is copy and paste the new table into your page and update it. Always request Google crawl your new page so the new url's you've added will get proper credit. We will go around and check every so often to be sure your link page is current with the master here. I am sure it will be... but of course if you are not updating your page like the rest of us... then your info will be removed from the list.

6. This links page does not have to be "pretty" you know. It can be nestled far in the background... behind a line "interesting links" on a contact page. It's not really intended for human consumption after all... its for the web crawlers and they must be able to find it.

7. No Adult content sites will be allowed.

8. As part of the overall grass roots marketing you should spend a bit of time once a month and email a couple of people in your field in other cities... suggesting they check out this page. Sort of a cold call.. I know ... but if we don't talk about this we rely solely on someone stumbling across this and thinking it's a good idea... we can help the process along by suggesting it to folks in our trades... in other markets of course!

Don't be discouraged if there aren't many sites on the list initially... this will grow as any grass roots effort grows... and it's speed will be dependent on how many people you send a note to and suggest they check this out!
